A towering menace over your shoulder
This is not the famous tree that you flew here for

It takes effort to get here
The tunnel has opened your eyes
The water cascading around you will end up being your downfall

Now a creature no other before it
Slides out of the water and drips right behind you
It likes the taste of you
It likes the smell of you
There will be no escape as it consumes the depth of your soul

You’re running away
Through the wetlands
And running along the shore.
A clearing before you
You run toward it, and see a bright light ahead

Running much faster, the menace is shrinking the distance between you
The light is a plane. The cleaning is runway, middle of nowhere
The menace gets closer
The plane starts dipping it’s wings in dismay
We’re right out in front now
The plane and the menace are bread to my sandwich
